Espace Bigbang is delighted to present the two artists who will open this year's programme with the exhibition Toute ma vie était entrée: Yéssica Montero and Noor Abed. They are the first in a series of exhibitions that will be composed like a musical timelapse, divided into ‘Seasons’ and ‘Words’, the ‘Seasons’ being exhibitions, performances, workshops, screenings, etc. and the ‘Words’ being textual contributions of different genres/forms.

Yéssica Montero's drawings refer to cavities, the primitive and the night. She creates images from the materiality of nature, personal memories and poetic gestures. She seeks to create a personal mythology with a body of work that, taken together, suggests other ways of being and being in the world.

Noor Abed's film explores the critical position of ‘folklore’ as a source of knowledge, and its possible link to alternative social and representational models in Palestine. Captured through film and sound, situated histories are archived and represented, creating a context that explores the capacity for social formation and the possibility of remembering a memory capable of decentralising images of fixity.

Together, their works present a complex and subtle dialogue on the ancestral tools against violence and on the many paths that open up in the night, in bodies and in the earth, which prevent horror and keep us together.
